Michele Avissar-Whiting

Operations Manager

Bio: Michelle joined Research Square in 2011 as lead Editor for the AJE Division (American Journal Experts). She moved on to doing more illustration within the group and is now Operations Manager for all of AJE's formatting, illustration and video. For the last two years she has led the company's Video Abstracts team on a number of projects. She holds a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences from the University of Rhode Island and a PhD in Medical Science from Brown University. Her dissertation focused on microRNA in the areas of head and neck cancer.

Bio: Gregory Bezkorovainy is Vice President of Scientific Services at Adelphi Communications in New York. Over the years he has worn almost every publications planning hat imaginable, including medical reporter, editor, writer, designer, tactical planner, and strategic planner. Bio: Angela is the R&D Publication Lead in the Publications ¿ Disclosure Practices¿ group at GSK. With its subsidiaries RightsDirect and Ixxus, CCC provides solutions for millions of people from the world's largest companies and academic institutions. Liz has developed a deep appreciation of the concerns and needs of content users worldwide since joining CCC in 2005. She spends much of her time helping Corporate clients with their Annual Copyright License, Motion Picture License, Music Use License and RightFind Software. She is focused on ensuring clients understand the boundaries of their license, assisting with permissions and educating clients on the basics of copyright.

Pamela Blumberg

Bio: Pamela B. Landsman-Blumberg MPH, DrPH is Vice President of Real-World Evidence at Xcenda, LLC. Dr. Blumberg has over 25 years of experience utilizing administrative claims, EMR, and chart review data to conduct studies of all aspects of health economics and outcomes research (HEOR). Her focus has been on providing real world evidence of program and product performance to payers, providers, and policy makers. With 10 years of HEOR consulting experience, she also spent 15 years with a large pharmaceutical manufacturer and time at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr Blumberg received her BS in biology from the University of Connecticut, her MPH in biostatistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her DrPH in health policy and management from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Co-authoring over 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts she is a long-standing member of AcademyHealth and ISPOR and serves as a peer reviewer for JAMA, AJMC, AJPB, Medical Care, and Pharmacoepidemiology & Drug Safety.

Monica Bradford

American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)

Bio: Monica Bradford is the Executive Editor of the international journal Science, published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In this position she oversees the peer-review and selection of manuscripts; and the copyediting and proofreading process; and the design, production and manufacture for three journals: Science, Science Signaling, and Science Translational Medicine. Over the last fifteen years, Monica has been heavily involved in the development of Science's web and new media offerings. Prior to joining the staff of Science in 1989, Monica worked for the Publications Division of the American Chemical Society for nine years. She holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana, and has done graduate work in management at the University of Maryland. Monica was a Director and President of the Council of Science Editors, served as Vice-Chair of the Scientific Publishing Board of the American Heart Association, and is a member of the Society for Scholarly Publishing. She resides in Silver Spring, Maryland, with her husband.

He is currently a publication therapeutic area lead in Alzheimer immunotherapy and oncology, and had responsibility for cardiovascular, metabolism, infectious diseases and vaccines. He is involved in publication project team communication and collaboration from early publication planning to submission. Brad obtained his PhD in cognitive psychology from Purdue University and following a research fellowship at University of Toronto, he was a visiting professor at Tsukuba University in Japan for three years. Bio: Alice Choi is currently the Global Head of Complete Medical Communications (CMC), a division of McCann Complete Medical. Alice has an honours degree in Pharmacology, a Masters Degree in Clinical Pharmacology, a Masters in Public Health and a doctorate in cancer epidemiology. Pre CMC, Alice began her career in academia as a researcher before moving on to a number of healthcare agencies, working in medical communications, market research and health outcomes. Since joining CMC in 2002, Alice has held a number of different roles, including account director and commercial director, before taking up her current position in 2006. In this role, she oversees a multidisciplinary team based in offices across the UK and the US. Alongside her broader operational responsibilities, Alice continues to work closely with several clients. Having 20+ years of experience in a range of different therapy areas, she assists clients with a variety of projects including communication planning, Phase IIIB/IV planning, stakeholder services and general consultancy - in particular, publication planning and best practice scientific exchange are important areas for Alice and the wider CMC team. Alice is a Certified Medical Publication Professional and has contributed to several ISMPP committees over the years. She currently serves on the Advocacy and Outreach Committee, is a Past Chair of the Board of Trustees for ISMPP and was the Chair of the 2016 Annual Program Committee. She also serves as a Governor for The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, one of Europe's leading cancer centres.

Bio: Juli has directed the Global Medical Writing department at Amgen for 10 years, and has 20 years of experience in the biotech industry, having managed staff and services in Medical Writing, Medical Information and Medical Communication roles. Jonathan Druhan

Bio: Jon Druhan is a Global Publications Director, CVMD at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP. During this time, Jon served as Chair of the Ethics Committee for the International Society for Medical Publications Professionals (ISMPP) and he frequently presented on issues related to publications ethics and best practices at ISMPP meetings and Center for Business Intelligence forums on Publication Planning. In 2011, he took on the role of Medical Scientific Compliance Director, providing policy and compliance support to AstraZeneca's US Medical Affairs department. During his three years as Compliance Director, Jon developed broad expertise in policy and regulatory issues related to scientific exchange and medical communications. He returned to the field of Medical Publications as US Publications Director for AstraZeneca in October 2014 and then assumed his current role as Global Publications Director, CVMD at the start of 2016.
